Job Description

Position Summary

The Manager, Project Management will be a pivotal contributor in advancing the operational strategic initiatives of the Transplant Diagnostics division. This role involves leading programs that support our Operations team and other business transformation initiatives, as well as managing a distributed team responsible for developing and maintaining digital platforms for reporting performance metrics in portfolio and program management across the division. To be successful, this high-visibility position demands effective leadership over multiple tasks and teams, requiring a candidate with a collaborative approach, focus on results, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional core teams and conduct regular project meetings (including taking and sharing minutes), supervise assigned deliverables, develop timelines, and develop presentations for senior leadership.

  • Partner with the various sub-specialties of Operations, R&D, Product Management, and Technical Operations (Manufacturing Sciences and Engineering) to ensure manufacturing procedures and production methods are reproducible and sustainable.

  • Identify potential risks and issues, along with developing effective mitigation strategies. Proactively address challenges to maintain compliance, product quality, and project execution.

  • Support the portfolio management team and business leaders in creating and maintaining Power BI-based dashboards and reports using data from Planview PPM Pro and other sources.

  • Maintain clear communication lines with all team members, providing regular updates on project status and achievements, and raising barriers to execution to ensure projects are completed on time with high quality and within the applicable scope and budget.

  • Hire, onboard, and assign project management resources as per business need. Mentor project managers and partner with employees to build personal development plans to improve skills.

Education and Experience

  • University degree in life sciences, engineering, IT, or business administration. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum 6 years demonstrated experience in program management in biotech or life sciences industry; IVD experience highly preferred.

  • Minimum 4 years of people management experience.

  • PMP certification a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven track record of influencing and driving accountability across a matrixed organization.

  • Strong communication skill in translating complex operational situations into terms clearly understood by various collaborators and stakeholders.

  • Familiar with Medical Device Manufacturing and Design Controls for the development of medical devices (e.g., 21CFR820, ISO 13485).

  • Problem solving skills combined with pragmatic problem-solving competence.

  • Self-managing and self-motivating, capable of prioritizing tasks effectively to meet timelines and expectations. Is curious, innovative, and never satisfied with the status quo. Possesses a proactive, helpful, ‘can-do’ outlook.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.
