This position is based in Vantaa, and we are working closely with our other Immunodiagnostics division colleagues in Uppsala, where Thermo Fisher develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. We are the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics.

Our Finland locations include Vantaa and Joensuu, employing over 800 professionals supporting functions such as production, instrument and reagent manufacturing, R&D, marketing, sales, quality, administrative support, and supply chain. We hire experts in different fields including engineering, chemistry, microbiology, and bioinformatics. Our Vantaa site develops pipettes and microplate instruments as well as clinical chemistry and industrial chemistry analyzers, laboratory automation solutions and food safety kits. It is conveniently located close to the Vantaankoski railway station.

How will you make an impact?

As a Senior Software Engineer you bring wealth of software engineering skills to our Vantaa Team to help us in providing healthcare professionals with advanced diagnostic technologies.

You will, for example:

  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of new software products as well as the maintenance and improvement of existing software.

  • Collaborate closely with other software engineers, product and project management, and verification teams.

  • Work closely with global scrum teams to ensure software products meet the specifications.

  • Build coherent integrated software designs and plans.

  • Author test documents and status reports.

  • Communicate status and issues to other functional teams.

  • Evaluate and accept requirements.

  • Participate in project planning and progress tracking.

How will you get there?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from suitable area (e.g., engineering, computer science, information technology).

  • Prior experience in software development projects, solid knowledge of C#, .NET, Git, and with web development.

  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle.

  • You would impress us by having experience with the following: Blazor, TDD, BDD, test automation.

  • You preferable have prior experience in working in regulated environments and understanding the meaning of standards.

  • You are clear in communicating your intensions and collaborating with your peers, and fluent in English language.
