Job Description

The North American Field Applications position is a part of the NA Human Identification Organization and provides training and support to HID customers. The Field Applications team is responsible to demonstrate, optimize, and sustain HID solutions to ensure customer success. The NA HID FAS team is the primary technical field contact for Forensic DNA and Law Enforcement customers, and is responsible for presales application support, new product installations, demonstrations, customer trainings, workshops/conferences as well as providing data analysis, logistical, and troubleshooting support in their territory. Our primary goals are to ensure maximum and optimized utilization of all TFS products to drive revenue and help ensure customer retention.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and delivers new product customer training in the application, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance of chemistry, instrumentation, and software products for human identification.

  • Troubleshoots issues related to workflow, assay, software and/or instrumentation. Interprets customer needs and identifies resolution pathways that may include technical support, sales, service, R&D, or other functions.

  • Develops and maintains effective customer relationships.

  • Helps to ensure product usage and supporting key account and strategic sales efforts through technical presentations and demonstrations.

  • Provides strategic and competitive feedback to Marketing and product development teams, and independently leads or manages product testing at customer sites.

  • Develops and improves processes that support our mission of building a customer training and support organization.

Preferred Experiential Background:

  • Master’s degree (or Bachelor + meaningful experience) in biology, forensic sciences or equivalent; human identification, application customer support for regulated market or equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of forensic human identification experience.

  • Prior field experience supporting customers in an applied and regulated technical field required.

  • Confirmed experience using TFS, Applied Biosystems assays and systems.

  • Experience with liquid handling robotics preferred.

  • Outstanding problem solving, interpersonal and account leadership skills in a commercial environment.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills.

  • Dedication to providing outstanding customer service.

  • Ability to respond quickly to changing needs and adapt as needed to meet new challenges.

  • Strong influencing skills to empower others at all levels of the organization.

  • Takes ownership and accountability to achieve the accurate team output.
