Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a System Analyst III to assist in support of our Laboratory and Quality based applications. Collaborating with all levels of business users and information technology staff, the individual will be responsible for performing analysis, debugging, configuration, implementation and maintenance for applications.
Provide day to day support function to PSG labs, ensuring all lab applications are functional at all times.
Works with the lab teams to identify issues and troubleshoots them. Working with IT staff and labs to proactively resolve these issues.
Drive enhancements to lab applications.
Lead small sized projects. Have ability to facilitate requirements gathering, writing minor system update specs, and test script for small updates.
Act as lab expert supporting IT Validation as required.
The modification and execution of scripts and documents per regulation (good documentation practices and ensuring regulatory compliance).
Works with the wider IT community as required to resolve issues.
Perform and provide guidance technical audits of system to ensure data integrity. Review account mgmt. and activity for systems assigned
Escalation point of contact of all LAB troubleshooting problems
Drive out development and achievement of project targets set by the Information Technology department.
Issues with the lab application need to be resolved with the sense of urgency.
Seek proactive problem prevention measures to ensure lab is operational on a 24/7 schedule.
Primary authority involves problem resolution with little direction required. Also includes proactive project work.
May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Providing a clear example of technical excellence and productivity for the rest of the team.
Maintaining the project technical vision clear for everyone, from beginning to end.
Answering the technical questions that team or stakeholders have.
Helping the team resolve difficult problems.
Reviewing the decisions the team makes to ensure consistency and alignment with the vision.
Mentoring team members.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: (required)
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related scientific discipline or equivalent education and experience.
Position will be based out of EU / NA, travel to other sites will be required (no more than 20% of the time)
5 + years technical experience as a Systems Analyst / Application Support Engineer (Leadership experience preferred)
Good understanding of Windows OS.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to work accurately, with interruptions, to meet deadlines.
Written and verbal communications and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users.
Other Job Requirements: (preferred)
Experience with Citrix environment and working knowledge of networking
Experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
Experience with LIMS or any lab systems
Experience with a validated systems environment, including 21CFR Part 11, ISO 17025, GxP, etc. .
Understanding of laboratory processes and methods
