Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position will be to partners with cross-company scientific leaders and Thermo Fisher executives to build global scientific strategies and provide the necessary data and know-how to support those strategies. The cultivation of data and know-how will likely take place at a cross-group/division collaboration center this role would help design and implement. In addition to the leadership competencies listed below, this role requires a rigorous science background, global collaboration and influencing skills, and a solutions mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the scoping and implementation of a cross-group/division Collaboration Center. While funding for this project has not yet been approved in the initial 3-9 months, this role would take the lead in defining the scope and commissioning the collaboration center. Specific responsibilities would be:

  • Defining charter and governance structure

  • Defining CapEx, space and equipment requirement

  • Identifying and recruiting staff

  • Lead the implementation and evaluation of new technology from Thermo Fisher Scientific by legacy Patheon.

  • Assist the cell culture team with key technical projects as time allows.

  • Foster a culture that promotes our Core Values as reflected in the Corporation’s Code of Business Conduct

  • Provide technical direction and leadership to staff and sites in connection with current projects to achieve global solutions
