Location/Division Specific Information

This position is located within the Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division of the Life Sciences Solutions Group at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

How will you make an impact?

As a member of the North America Regional Market Development Team, you will be responsible for marketing strategy and tactical implementation of activities and results supporting key product lines and application areas while implementing projects in cross-functional teams. You will drive all aspects of the downstream marketing for NGS product lines focused on clinical and translational sequencing applications. You will enable new product introductions, sustain existing product offerings, and communicate the value of our portfolio of Ion Torrent and AmpliSeq solutions to customers.

A Day in the Life

  • Develop multi-channel integrated marketing plans for custom AmpliSeq applications, including customer segmentation, competitor analysis, business trends, market opportunities, sales funnels, and staging and pacing of tactical programs

  • Guide the development of copy and creative content for NGS application areas such as inherited disease, pharmacogenomics, infectious disease, and others, appropriately positioning products within compliance guidelines, while conveying strong value propositions and clear product differentiation

  • Create and implement marketing content across multiple channels, including email, social media, web, video, print, and live events

  • Develop sales training, customer education materials, and marketing plans in collaboration with product management, global marketing, medical affairs, and commercial teams

  • Develop a robust lead generation and sales opportunity funnel through promotional initiatives and marketing-led events such as webinars and tradeshows

  • Successfully engage with advertising agencies and marketing project managers to deliver high-quality assets, including, but not limited to, creative direction and content for print and digital collateral, PR, social media, customer-facing presentations, regional tradeshow properties and promotional materials

  • Maintain and analyze campaign metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities

  • Maintain knowledge of molecular diagnostic industry trends and competitor activity

  • Manage marketing budgets and optimize the promotional mix of campaigns to achieve a high return on investment

  • Act as a brand ambassador, understanding, upholding, and communicating our multi-brand strategy in all aspects of our marketing programs

  • Maintain relationships and projects with external collaborators such as customer KOLs, strategic partners, advocacy groups, and sales channels.

Keys to Success

Education

  • ​​Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in molecular biology, genetics, or other related science field)

  • Master’s degree in relevant scientific field or business administration preferred

Experience

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in marketing, sales, and/or molecular assay development with increasing scope and responsibility in the genomics and molecular diagnostic arenas preferred.

  • Prior sales, marketing, or technical experience with next-generation sequencing technologies and/or molecular diagnostics is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Self-starter and collaborative within project teams, and successful track record working in matrix environments

  • Exceptional skill managing complex marketing projects with a strong attention to detail

  • Adept at building and maintain relationships with customers and key opinion leaders

  • Strong creative intuition on design and messaging that resonates with customers and an ability to learn from previous campaigns to improve on performance

  • Ability to manage project scope, budget, and schedule to achieve timely results

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experienced and adept with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Approximately 10-15% domestic and international travel

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $110,000.00–$140,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
