Job Description

The opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Scientist III, Field Applications is truly exceptional. In this role, you will have the chance to apply your technical engineering expertise to provide scientific support, training, and application assistance to our diverse range of customers. Responsibilities:

  • Independently provide in-house and on-site application support, training, and maintenance on our brand products, ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Support sales by delivering pre- and post-sales customer support activities, contributing to the achievement of regional sales targets.

  • Conduct product demonstrations at customer or company sites.

  • Prepare and present seminars to various audiences.

  • Proficiently address customer concerns by effectively troubleshooting.

  • Provide technical service and application assistance in response to customer inquiries.

  • Perform Planned Maintenance activities on customer sites.

  • Play a major role in introducing and supporting new products and applications.

  • Train and support other departments on new products and applications.

  • Continuously update scientific and technical knowledge to stay at the forefront of technology.

  • Communicate effectively within the team to enhance knowledge sharing.

  • Support the Service & Support organization in achieving regional training and service contract sales targets through customer interaction and relationship building.

Requirements:

  • MSc and/or PhD in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Preferable professional background in engineering, life science, or related subjects.

  • Experience in Real-time PCR and/or Sample Preparation/Automation products.

  • Collaborative individual with a proven track record in coordinating activities across different departments to meet customer needs.

  • Excellent knowledge of Genomics and Genomic applications.

  • Proficient in presenting technical materials in written and verbal form.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals.

  • Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills.

  • Customer-minded individual with empathy for customer concerns.

  • Customer-facing experience is an asset.

  • Good commercial insight and attitude.

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse contacts.

  • Proactive and motivated personality.

  • Technical engineering experience.

  • Fluent in English.

Willingness to travel 25-75% of the time (will vary).
