Thermo Fisher Scientific Order Fulfillment Specialist in Remote / Field, Illinois
Responsible for the overall order schedule as well as timely processing and fulfilling of all MIT orders for the United States in ERP-SAP R3.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
Generate Purchase orders and STO’s on factories and suppliers according to sales orders generated by commercial offices
Consolidate and fulfil sales orders in accordance with the purchase orders placed on the supplier plants and suppliers
Independently makes decisions and utilizes available resources to meet customer requirements.
Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various customer orders and Thermo Fisher reports to ensure customer and Thermo Fisher requirements are aligned and met. Updates and maintains order data as needed.
Capture and report site specific performance metrics such as past due sales orders, order schedule status and establish root cause and corrective actions for misses
Communicates with manager and stakeholders regarding potential problems with factory shipments
Works effectively with diverse cross-functional teams
Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies
Access & utilize Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Monitors orders for correct routing and service levels via use of a dashboard tool
Review and analyze daily SAP reports on order status / exceptions
Support the returns process
Check prices and invoices
Coordinate delivery / terms with supplier plants, suppliers, and freight carriers
Review and coordinate deliveries to ensuring timely delivery to the end customer
Review and analyze daily SAP reports regarding on order status
Support internal and external customers via phone and email
Back-up of tasks from other departments (mainly holiday coverage)
Follow well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions. Take direction from Site Manager regarding daily duties.
Monitor sales order status from scheduled to delivery to the end user
Perform order expediting and monitor backlog status through SAP reports.
Facilitate problem resolution between customer and factory / vendors
Communicate schedule changes to CES team and other key stakeholders
Ensure day-to-day monitoring of exports and imports
Interface with freight forwarders, customs officers and internal and external customers on all matters related to customs and import and export regulations
BS degree in Business, Materials Management or related field. A combination of job related experience and ongoing educational progress may be considered in lieu of BS degree.
Commercial, logistics and administrative training/education
2-3 years working experience in logistics, order processing or purchasing role
Experience in working with SAP R3, by preference with SD, MM
Working knowledge of import and export trade compliance (HTS, ECCN, COO, Valuation, etc.)
Experience and Qualifications :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
