The Healthcare Market Division (HMD) offers a broad array of consumables, diagnostic kits, and reagents, equipment, instruments, solutions, and services for hospitals, clinical laboratories, reference laboratories, physicians’ offices, and other clinical testing facilities. These products are manufactured by Thermo Fisher and third parties. The division manages over 22,000 active customer accounts, 80,000 products, 2900 suppliers, 13 distribution centers and 3 customer service locations generating over $1B in revenues.

What you'll do:

Product Management Specialist responsibility including market and opportunity analysis, assist in planning and commercial strategy development, and routine tactical execution plan for selected HMD product portfolios including Thermo Fisher Scientific Specialty Diagnostics, Thermo Fisher Laboratory Products, external branded rapid diagnostics, and general lab products. Work closely with partner marketing organizations to ensure optimal positioning and sales of partners’ products through HMD Sales. Responsible for the tactical aspects of revenue, market share, and margin targets associated with these products. This includes pricing, profitability analysis, and promotion in working with field sales.

Key success metrics of this position are revenue growth, portfolio profitability, and new product and supplier introductions. The Product Management Specialist will assist in the tactical execution of product acquisition strategies to accelerate the growth of the Healthcare Market.

Successfully working this position will require excellent communication and analytical skills, exceptional ability to manage multiple competing priorities, ability to resolve supplier issues on a regular basis, manage supplier relationships, and the ability to respond to emails and voicemails in a timely manner.

  • Understands current and future market trends for tactical implementation of programs

  • Supports and works closely with Sales to identify and develop opportunities

  • Tactically executes marketing and promotional activities to increase sales

  • Develops and coordinates product communications

  • Analyzes media opportunities for marketing and negotiating the purchase of media time/space.

  • Works closely with key vendors on tactical programs

  • Assists and works to identify product line extensions

  • Tactical day-to-day management of the product portfolio and maintain cross-functional relationships with internal departments including; Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing, Marketing Communications, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Product Administration, and other Thermo Fisher Scientific divisions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Preferred familiarity with laboratory diagnostics products in the hospital setting and non-hospital labs.

  • Solid understanding of the diagnostics market, including trends and competition.

  • Strong work ethic, leadership, motivation, and interest in career development

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Creative, autonomous individual who can manage multiple priorities and work well with field sales

  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office products)

  • 1-2 Years sales experience in medical products, clinical diagnostics, or scientific products

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or business discipline preferred

  • Must be willing to travel 25-30% of the time
