Job Description

The Research and Safety Division (RSD) is a business within Customer Channel Group (CCG), which is the largest distributor serving the scientific research market. We are seeking a Financial Analyst III who will be an integral part of the RSD North America & Emerging Markets FP&A team to support division finance and division leadership help deliver our near and long-term financial objectives. The scope of responsibilities includes all FP&A planning, analysis & reporting to accomplish financial goals and initiatives to support a growing organization. The ideal candidate will drive business decisions through effective analysis and communication with senior management. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for a motivated self-starter to drive significant value.

What you will do :

• Partner with leadership and manage RSD US P&L by conducting variance analysis, estimating risks and opportunities, and supporting execution to meet financial results

• Be responsible for the monthly accounting close processes, including expense, investment and productivity tracking, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis

• Analyze transactional / operational data, identify anomalies, and ensure accurate reporting

• Develop and communicate financial and operating goals, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and monthly/quarterly forecast updates

• Translate business inputs into financial assumptions, build and maintain forecast models to project future trends and results

• Partner with CCG Shared Services finance teams and regional finance teams to consolidate financial results, forecasts and AOP

• Coordinate activities to ensure timely upload and reconciliation of CMR, PLN and SSAS cubes

• Provide analyses to support RSD / CCG senior leadership decisions

• Adopt PPI and drive continuous learning

• Perform ad hoc analysis as the need arises

How you will get here :

Education :

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business related field Experience

• 3+ years of meaningful work experience in Finance

• Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :

• Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas: financial reporting, financial modeling, internal control, forecasting, analysis, and general accounting knowledge

• Strong business and industry knowledge as well as the ability to make logical assumptions, identify trends, incorporate external and internal information, draw conclusions from ambiguous data, and effectively benchmark results against appropriate baselines.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to summarize and present information in a concise and effective manner tailored toward different audiences.

• Attention to detail and consistently delivering high quality work; ability to learn quickly, adhere to timelines and multi-task in deadline driven environment; Proven track record to manage multiple assignments and prioritizes projects and time effectively

• Ability to identify and nurture productivity improvements through improvement in execution

• Proficient user of MS Excel and PowerPoint are required. Skills with HFM/CMR/PLN, Oracle, and COGNOS are preferred
