Supply Center Specialist Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an internship at ThermoFisher Scientific, the world’s leading life-science company! The successful candidate will work in collaboration with our commercial and e-business teams to optimise our on-site stocking programs at some our largest academic, biotech and pharmaceutical customers.

Roles and Responsibilities This is primarily a customer centric commercial role, being accountable for delivering continued high level customer satisfaction by ensuring a positive experience when ordering our products through this channel. This will be accomplished through a collaborative approach with the commercial team and our customers to ensure that the stock mix and levels are routinely monitored and adjusted to meet current needs or to drive future growth. Strong communication will be needed to ensure regular feedback, competitor activity and to share opportunities to improve our business relationships both internally and externally. We offer the opportunity to work with marketing to maintain corporate approved labelling and signage, and branding of Supply Center, including ensuring adequate levels of promotional material, sign-out sheets and other administrative materials as directed (including compiling MSDS and Cert of Analysis). Throughout your tenure you will receive training in many of our systems including the preferred ordering mechanism and SCMS. We provide opportunities to receive sales training, improve your product knowledge and much more. You will be encouraged to implement and assist with product shows, seminars, on-site promotions, and other on-site promotional events tied to Supply Center.

Education and Experience

You are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field. Previous sales experiences is preferred but not an essential requirement. Our SSCs are encouraged to demonstrate a customer-centric approach and to be keenly aware of markets, trends and competitors. A curious or entrepreneurial mind-set, contagious optimism and a “can do” out-look are essential attributes for this role. We encourage our sales teams to take some calculated risks to grow the business, but you should not be afraid to learn from failures or challenges as they arise!

Working Conditions: • Works hours must be performed during normal business hours to match delivery times and customer hours. • Daily car travel to and from account locations is required. • Is required to lift up to 20kg • May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing work duties. • Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.
