Job Description

We are looking for an in-house lawyer to support Legal Business Partnering for Thermo Fisher Scientific, a Fortune 500 American company. The incumbent will look into all legal aspects of our businesses as a member of Legal Team. The role is expected to ensure smooth business operations and ensuring compliance of regulations, laws and policy guidelines and to support General Manager on legal issues.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Drafting, review and execution of agreements such as distributor agreements, Lease Agreements, procurement agreements, vendor agreements, MoUs, Non-Disclosure agreements, commercial contract, etc. Negotiate legal terms in favour of the company with external parties

  2. Provide support for in-house litigation matters (including filing and defending - cases against and on behalf of the company).

  3. Provide support for preparing compliance related documents such as guidance documents, SOPs, policies etc.

  4. Provide legal and compliance advice on regular issues pertaining to business projects / works

  5. Support in internal compliance audits and legal team initiatives around compliance

  6. Responsible for digital/electronic execution of agreements, guide and train other colleagues in respect of digital execution of agreements.

  7. Provide support on digitisation project such as AI portals (contract management, Tender management etc.) and developing internal policies; Legal software updation / report generation / monitoring & tracking, MIS, filing and any other activity related to the legal department.

  8. Carrying out legal research and providing general legal advisory on day to day business operations

  9. Candidate should be able to handle contracts independently.

Qualification, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

LLB / LLM from a best-in-class Institute in India with at least 4-5 years experience

Previous life sciences or FMCG experience with at least 2 years in-house preferred.

Should have sound knowledge and understanding of commercial contracts, corporate laws and procedures

Possess a strong sense of ethics and integrity.

Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to work and manage in a high energy, fast paced environment

Team oriented/ strong interpersonal and communication skills - Must be comfortable working in dynamic and diverse multi-national teams.

Self-motivated / driven to succeed - High level of initiative and ability to work in team as well as autonomously. Must strive to consistently go above and beyond and look for opportunities to improve on existing processes or methods.

Should have growth mindset, good problem solving and presentation skills
