How will you make an impact?
The Lead Packaging/Labeling Technician will perform the printing of labels for manufacturing teams as well as coordinating and prioritizing work orders, delegating assignments to Packaging/Labeling technicians, and performing other duties as required.
What will you do?
Technician will perform the printing of labels for manufacturing teams.
Operation and set up of vision systems
Manage inventory of labels and inserts to include assigning locations and putting away.
Pull labels and inserts for productions use and printing in-house inserts.
Complete cycle counts as required for labels and inserts.
Perform MRP functions for labels and inserts.
Ability to complete line opening/line closing.
Pull labels for production use per manufacturing work order instructions.
Print labels as per requests from Manufacturing teams, PDPS, Warehouse and Engineering.
Print in-house inserts as required.
Work with Packaging Engineering and Documentation to develop all new label formats.
Clean and maintain work area.
Work in manufacturing area in the event label room is down or assistance is needed.
Be completely signed off on all functions, printers, vision systems and label types.
Ability to write Change Orders and manage through the process.
Ability to troubleshoot issues with machines and process.
Interfaces and communicates effectively with all work groups.
Job will be performed in compliance with GMP and as per appropriate SOPs.
How will you get there?
- High School Diploma or GED. At least one year of production/manufacturing experience. Knowledge of Easy Label software a plus.
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
Demonstrated knowledge of PCs and software applications
Familiarity with SAP transactions
Attention to detail; ability to work independently, schedule and prioritize workload, and handle multiple tasks and projects, and phone calls simultaneously
Ability to multi task running multiple machines
In depth technical knowledge about label set up and order completion
Knowledge of cycle count process
Demonstrated communication skills
Demonstrated math skills as well as mechanical aptitude and ability
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Knowledge of GMP and ISO requirements
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Demonstrated good safety and quality practices
Demonstrated good attendance practices
Must be flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary including weekends as required
Normal manufacturing environment with moderate work area conditions with no excessive temperatures or noise.
Position may require frequent communication and walking to other areas in which designated PPE will be required.
Position will require sitting and standing.
Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
