Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic experts. Summarized Purpose:

Point of contact for timely response of technical inquiries from business development and contracts & proposal development personnel. Responsible for developing work scopes with technical detail and associated costs for RFPs in a specific business area. Business manager is the process owner for operational proposal review prior to issuance including tracking and driving assurance of timeline, specifically, where multiple departments are involved. This position ensures consistency in presentation, evaluation, and pricing of contracted work scopes.

· Knowledgeable in both lab capabilities and lab experience

· Working knowledge to address asset specific questions and to be able to scope new work requests, with direction

· Leads/co-leads new client meetings covering capabilities, best practice, and supplemental services based on client needs/program types-at client or CRG site

· Leads internal teams for proposal completion, budget, and review

· Participates in RFI completion for operations

· Liaison between BD and Management on new work scopes

· Provides updates to departmental, site, and (corporate/Thermo) management on business metrics, customer and technology trends, etc.

· Involved/aware of all service offering changes, expansion, or additions-may be involved/lead CapEx

· Participates in collecting and developing slide content for department and technology specific slides

Education and Experience:

· BA/BS degree (preferably in statistics, business, or relevant science application)

· 6+ years’ experience in applicable discipline including strong science background

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Working knowledge of financial systems, reporting dashboards and applicable business systems related to Thermo Fisher Scientific

· Strong working knowledge of LIMs and any other analytics tools and applications used by the business

· Experience working with business accounting practices and current industry norms

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts

· Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments, and create deliverables with minimal direction.

Additional Information:

  • 10-20% travel with potential of regional, domestic and international.

  • Remote working option, with on-site presence when warranted by client visit
