Job Description

We are currently looking for a self-motivated individual with great attention to detail to join our team as a Compliance Specialist II at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with international trade and customs operations, including import and export documentation.

  • Manage domestic logistics, including border crossing and shipment coordination with carriers.

  • Support Monterrey and Tijuana plants with activities related to Annex 24 and Annex 30.

  • Conduct thorough audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Organize purchase orders and related information for customs manifests.

  • Ensure the correct delivery and filing of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) certificates of origin.

  • Verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for correct origin calculations of imported materials.

  • Monitor and verify VAT certification obligations as per Annex 30.

  • Maintain direct communication with materials and engineering departments for proper scrap control.

  • Control, monitor, audit, update, and label information related to temporary imported machinery and equipment.

  • Register and manage transfer notices for customs authorities through the VUCEM portal.

  • Daily verification of inventory reports and support entries with required certificates.

  • Ensure correct information on temporary machinery and equipment labels before import.

  • File invoices, pedimentos, and supporting documentation of import/export.

  • Comply with ACM & ASI quality system requirements for ISO 13485:2003 and FDA GMP regulations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address compliance risks.

  • Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters.

  • Support QC and FDA audits.

  • Maintain permanent communication with the Global Trade Compliance team in the U.S.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in compliance or a related field.

  • Knowledge of FTA’s, Maquiladora Decree, non-tariff regulations, and permits.

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
