Job Description
Clinical Customer Development Specialist is expected to support PCT (Procalcitonin) testing strategies in healthcare settings to achieve efficient patient and health economics outcomes by advancing the diagnosis of bacterial infection and antibiotic stewardship.
This role is responsible for growing PCT (Procalcitonin) clinical demand at healthcare settings across the region through discovery, engagement of clinical and laboratory customers, education and trainings. The person in the role will develop close working relationships with laboratory diagnostics equipment providers in the IVD market, who sell the test to the laboratory.
What will you do?
Take ownership for account profiling, targeting and development of healthcare settings within designated region; Establish relationships with key customers from Laboratory Leadership and Clinical Leads, including but not limited to Infectious Disease, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Antibiotic Stewardship Committees
Work with License Partners, within territory of responsibility to coordinate activities with target accounts
Gain agreement from key hospital/healthcare setting customers for broad test utilization, achieve hospital-wide protocol adoption and implementation
Analyze account dynamics to gain a deep understanding of customer objectives and customer clinical challenges; Use clinical insights to build and implement education programs.
Deliver education programs through 1:1 presentation and clinical sessions
Collaborate with regional Scientific Liaisons, Medical Affairs team and Marketing team to provide clinical expertise in message development for presenting clinical value of PCT assay
Assures that all training, presentations, and discussions are consistent with approved product indications for use
Be representative of ThermoFisher during local, regional, national, and international meetings and events
Be accountable to an annual operating growth plan as well as individual performance related to specific activity metrics
Keep updated relevant business data and use customer relationship management tool (SFDC) as the one source of truth
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health, Biology or related field is required; PhD degree is helpful
Experience
3 + years Healthcare experience, with a preference of experience in diagnostic lab settings, clinical demand related, customer development or key account experience
Clinical/scientific background preferred
Experience in Health Economics preferred
Proven track record in cross-functional healthcare environment preferred
Built positive relationships with key customers and partners to impact business growth
Experience in healthcare customer segmentation and account mappingpreferred
Experience engaging and influencing decision makers from different healthcare settings such as laboratory, pharmacy, ICU, ED and hospital administration preferred
Experience in analysis and assessment of training and development needs for target customers preferred
Experience with conducting customer trainingspreferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Self-directed and highly motivated
Strong analytical skills that coincide with the ability to implement sophisticated demand generation strategies
Strong presentation and organization skills
Able to establish and develop strong and lasting customer and partner relationships
Experience in working in matrix organization
Ability to travel extensively and as needed; minimum travel is >50%
Proficient with SFDC CRM, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
