  1. Purpose of the job

To manage the training program and development activities of the area employees in

a way that promotes achievement of Patheon’s key results.

  1. Job Context

Provide direct training support (e.g. technical and regulatory) to the Operations

business unit by conducting and or coordinating training programs and facilitating

department, area, job specific or introductory safety and environmental training

classes. Interpret regulatory training requirements and integrate teaching methods to

meet these requirements. Work with individual client groups to identify needs (needs

analyses). Solicit input from employees, supervisors, and managers regarding

training and initiate appropriate actions. Ensure documentation of training complies

with SOP’s, GAP’s, CGMP’s, safety and regulatory requirements of federal agencies,

etc

  1. Job Content:

a) Key Areas of Accountability / Responsibility

  1. Directly conduct and/or coordinate training programs and facilitate department,

area, job-specific or introductory safety and environmental training classes. Design

teaching methods.

  1. Interpret regulatory training requirements and integrate teaching methods to meet

these requirements. Act as key training contact and subject matter expert for

regulatory and customer audits

  1. Provide consulting services to customers for development of programs to address

special education needs.

  1. Work with individual client groups to identify needs (needs analyses). Solicit input

from employees, supervisors, and managers regarding training and initiate

appropriate actions.

  1. Assist functional groups with develop/maintenance of training curriculums with

regard to requirements

  1. Ensure documentation of training complies with SOP’s, GAP’s, CGMP’s, safety

and regulatory requirements of federal agencies, etc..

  1. Participate in and lead departmental and interdepartmental teams to meet area

training needs and ensure consistency across the site and company.

  1. Identify training needs and develop training programs.

  2. Serve as course developer, Reviewer and approver for area training packages and

training SOP’s

SHE: All employees are responsible for physical and informational security. This

position should identify all relevant SHE and security aspects and assess

corresponding risks related to his/her position and department and act in such a way

that the SHE and security impact is minimized; immediately report and give follow-up

to any incidents (near misses, injuries, dangerous occurrences etc.), unauthorized

entry or suspicious behavior to the security and/or SHE department. He/She should

also properly classify and store all information, and follow clear desk and screen

practices at all times. Therefore, he/she should be thoroughly familiar with and follow

all safety and security rules and procedures, display positive safety and security

behaviors at all times, and encourage everyone within the section to do so.

Additionally, he/she should also understand how his/her position and actions and the

positions and actions within the department affect the overall business safety,

security, and operations, and actively participate in safety programs. He/she should

assist in regular inspections of assigned area to identify any housekeeping, safety or

environmental concerns. If problems are detected, immediate corrective action

should be initiated and the incident should be reported. Participate in regularly

scheduled training and SHE communication sessions.

 Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to

prioritize and be self-directed.

 Must be able to manage several complex projects simultaneously.

 Must be able to coordinate complex training events.

 Must poesses analytical ability to gather, summarize, and present data.

  1. Knowledge and educational level

BS/BA with 3 years of experience in production related GMP or technical related

training

Or

AAS degree plus 4 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing or training

environment

Or

5 years of experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment including three

years of demonstrated training experience.

  1. Required level of experiences

 Facilitation Skills.

 Program design skills.

 Ability to plan and execute all phases of work with some management.

 Influences technical aspects of projects and negotiates detail with some

management guidance.

 Self-Motivated, Organized, professional, outgoing, and expressive individual

able to work well with others.

 Certifications related to training and SHE preferred.
