Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility(s).

  • Provide immediate direction and guidance to assigned staff; including ensuring appropriate resources are available and the effective use thereof. Provide strong leadership direction working within a very diverse workforce.

  • Coordinate the storage and delivery of materials according to established procedures and customer requirements. Interface with internal and external customers to identify and plan for unique storage and order fulfillment requirements.

  • Oversee the shipment of materials and/or finished goods in a timely manner according to customer requirements. Plans and coordinates space, materials, and manpower to meet operational needs. Coordinate the development and preparation of reports and other communication materials to keep management informed of the status of shipments, and measure shipping volumes, cost and efficiency.

  • Lead and/or participate in special projects requiring research and/or coordination of special services related to the receiving, shipping, and inventory control of goods.

  • May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required.

  • This position interacts with all levels of internal personnel, vendors, and customers. That interaction requires strong oral and written communication skills and customer service skills.

  • Effectiveness in this role also requires functional knowledge of corporate operations and the facility layout. The job encounters recurring work situations of moderate scope and complexity with occasional variations from the norm.

  • Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in schedules.

  • The incumbent normally receives general instruction on routine work and new assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma is required. Professional certification preferred

  • Min. 2 years experienced in Operations, Logistics, preferable in Receiving, Inventory and/or Storage Control (Raw Materials and Finish Goods) Proven ability to organize and consistently run a smooth cost-effective operation.

  • Requires demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.

  • Must demonstrate ability to lead by example and exemplify the Thermo Fisher Scientific behavior standards. Must have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate processes, timelines and schedules clearly.

  • Strong problem solving skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Certification

  • Working knowledge of business computer software required, Process Improvement Experience and logistics related applications desired
