Discover Impactful Work:

The battery market development manager owns the market development activities with a primary focus on lithium battery R&D and manufacturing quality control (QC) and failure analysis (FA). Defining and driving strategies for key opinion leader (KOL) development, lead generation, and pipeline growth will be the key objectives.

This role will involve working with different cross-functional teams within the business unit and the Asia Pacific region (excluding China) to drive battery business growth.

A day in the life:

  • Accompany business development managers and account managers on customer visits to provide technical sales support, and promote Thermo Fisher Scientific products at trade shows

  • Develop relationships with battery key opinion leaders in the target region to identify regional application trends and corresponding solutions

  • Develop annual marketing strategies with regional marketing teams to promote battery solutions

  • Key customer visits for voice of customer collection in support of product development

  • Organize workshops and seminars working with regional and BU marketing manager and product marketing managers.

  • Develop sales support materials including brochures, applications notes, product data sheets, online content, driven matrices, and technical presentations for regional product promotion

  • Develop and present technical papers at professional symposia, author technical articles for trade press

  • Develop, present, and coordinate regional training programs for the sales force to advise them of strategies, new products, improvements and Customer-focused solutions

  • Assist in the execution of marketing campaigns (online and through events) by working closely with the business unit marketing team.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years(Ph.D) / 5 years (Non-Ph.D) of experience working in a battery manufacturing or R&D environment where leadership is required.

  • Experienced in a matrix structured organization collaborating with global commercial, operations, and marketing teams

  • Client interfacing experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal communication both written and oral both in English and Korean

  • Having knowledge of different analytical characterization technique (electron microscope, XPS, and CT) on battery materials and technology is preferred

  • Systematic problem-solving by working with customers and marketing/service teams.

  • Strong customer presentation skills

  • MS or PhD in a materials science, physics, or electrochemistry field is preferred

  • Ability to travel within region and internationally >30%
