Location

This position will be at our Fremont, CA, location and will support Niche Diagnostics, part of the Clinical Diagnostics Division and the Specialty Diagnostics Group.

Discover Impactful Work:

The Sr. Manager, Business Excellence, will be responsible for implementing Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System for Niche Diagnostics. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally to implement PPI practices, driving a change in operating mentality and ensuring PPI principles are applied to support strategic and operational business plans. The position will work closely with the Operations and Senior Leadership teams to mature PPI tools to drive a continuous improvement culture.

A Day in the Life:

  • Partner with the various functions and leaders (Operations, Quality, R&D, Product Management & Business Development, Finance, etc.) to ensure an active pipeline of critical initiatives aligned with business priorities, metrics, and results. Establish a sustainability and governance mechanism.

  • Collaborate with Business Leaders to establish strategic plans via strategy deployment (X-matrix/A3), enable Key Performance Indicator Leadership, and develop PPI capability through training, qualification, and mentoring.

  • "Go To” person for Lean concepts, training & tools, and applications supporting high-impact initiatives.

  • Serve as a change agent by influencing, communicating, and institutionalizing a culture of simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop talent: Support leaders and PPI practitioners in increasing autonomy, developing lean expertise and capability within the function, and accelerating change.

  • Support functional leadership by assessing the PPI health across the four categories of People, Process, Leadership, and Technology.

  • Establish mechanisms to increase the efficiency of building proficiencies & rewarding learning.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Operations, Business, or a related field required.

  • Lean or Black Belt certification is a plus.

Experience

  • 8+ years of Lean leadership expertise and extensive experience implementing change initiatives (Lean, Business Process Improvement, Continuous Improvements, Kaizen, etc.)

  • Mastery of Lean and Six Sigma toolset.

  • Experience in the Diagnostics and/or Medical Devices industry is beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to partner with leadership teams in establishing multi-year plans via strategy deployment (X-matrix/A3)

  • An impactful communicator who can positively influence teams and leadership in operational and non-operational areas at all levels. Empower cross-functional teams to drive customer satisfaction through process improvement.

  • Proficiency in a variety of software applications (Brainshark, iConnect, DPloy)

  • Detailed knowledge of lean tools and methodologies (5S, Visual Controls, A3, SMED, Flow, GEMBA’s, Standard Work, etc.)

  • Ability to address problems through effective application of root cause analysis and countermeasure methodology

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $141,800.00–$212,675.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
