How will you make an impact?

The Manufacturing Services Supervisor is responsible for management of a team in the Reagent Manufacturing site. The Manufacturing department is responsible for label printing, filling, and packaging of reagent medical device products under ISO 13485. Responsibilities include supervising all activities in the assigned work area to ensure manufacturing goals and project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and any other regulations and ensures a safe work environment. Coach and supervise direct reports, identifying, and leading continuous improvement efforts that reduce waste and increase labor and operational efficiency.

What will you do?

  • Provide primary leadership to Manufacturing Services Filling personnel in Manufacturing Operations to meet department key performance indicators (KPIs). May require support other shifts occasionally.

  • Interview, hire, train, supervise, coach, motivate, develop and discipline contingent and regular Manufacturing Staff.

  • Partner with Supply Chain to ensure priority, capacity, resources, and schedule are aligned.

  • Drive issue resolution to achieve on-time adherence to schedule metrics.

  • Lead the department to meet on-time delivery, quality, safety, and productivity goals.

  • Lead daily Manufacturing Support tier boards reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and looking at opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and compliant operations are adhered to by staff.

  • Ensure seamless transfer of information and responsibilities across shifts and between areas.

  • Process department non-conformances (NCARs) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPAs) and closure timely.

  • Manage department budget and operate within financial plan.

  • Enforce training programs on schedule designed to enable staff to consistently execute all manufacturing processes with strict compliance to cGMPs, and EH&S regulations.

  • Promote a safe working environment with strict enforcement of safe practices.

  • Promote career development of staff through all levels of the organization.

  • Provide performance review for direct reports including recognition and disciplinary actions.

  • Cross-train employees to allow for flexible and comprehensive operations.

  • Responsible for the consistent application of company policies and safety regulations and issue employee disciplinary action as needed.

  • Provide guidance and training to employees to ensure QSR and ISO requirements have been properly implemented and are continually practiced.

  • Conduct regular reviews of standard procedures and batch record documentation and identify areas for improvement. Lead and coach the team towards identifying and implementing process improvements not limited to capital expense equipment.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and report monthly progress.

  • Other duties as required.

How will you get here?

Education:

  • Minimum required education: High School Diploma/ GED.

  • College degree in business, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment with HS Diploma.

  • 2 years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment with degree.

  • 2 years of people and project leadership experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with projects and/or teams.

  • Strong understanding of Quality System Regulations, cGMP, and ISO; experience with nonconformances and CAPA.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Must be highly collaborative, proficient in team management and conflict resolution.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse team members, senior management, and other departments.

  • Strong mechanical and safety knowledge of automated equipment.

  • Ability to support flexible work hours swing-shift.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $81,800.00–$122,750.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
