How will you make an impact?

The Scientist III - Biochemistry is an opportunity for a self-motivated and independent protein chemist to work in a fast-paced and dynamic research and development team. The successful candidate will apply biochemical skills to develop and produce high-quality research- and commercial-use bioconjugate products for life scientists.

What will you do?

  • Design and execution of experimental plans, troubleshooting, data analysis and reporting of results

  • Perform laboratory tasks independently and safely

  • Effectively collaborate with internal R&D and business work groups

  • Make recommendations to the business based on experience with various biochemical techniques

  • Stay abreast on current developments in both (bio)chemistry and life-science fields

  • Generate ideas for new product concepts based on understanding of customer needs

  • Maintain a detailed and accurate laboratory notebook

How will you get here?

  • BS degree and 5+ years of experience or MS/PhD degree and 3+ years of experience; degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering or other relevant field

  • Experience in industrial setting preferred

  • Hands-on laboratory experience in protein-protein, fluorophore, and/or hapten conjugation techniques

  • Experience in protein purification using chromatographic techniques

  • Practiced with protein and bioconjugate characterization techniques (e.g. UV-Vis, TLC, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, ELISA, etc.)

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work alongside colleagues from different backgrounds in a team-oriented environment

  • The ability to identify potential problems and provide relevant solutions

  • Skilled in statistical data analysis techniques using appropriate spreadsheet and graphing software
