With a growing installed base, the service organization and service logistics in particular is a very dynamic organization! The Global Planner will handle a subset of spare parts in the Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) and report to the Manager Global Planning Service Logistics. We work together in an international team of colleagues across different time zones to pro-actively ensure spare parts availability across our global warehousing network. Your job is directly impacting our ability to support our customers while maintaining to most efficient inventory levels to do so. It is a key differentiator in terms of Customer Allegiance Score (CAS) and fundamental to reaching the service revenue targets of close to $700M.

Together with the team you own and plan $140M worth of global inventory and are responsible for decisions to buy, repair, and scrap for a portfolio of around 3000 spare parts leading to a yearly value of around $40M. This is accomplished by using the planning software Servigistics and applying appropriate planning practices, knowledge on statistical forecasting, and insights gained from cross-departmental teamwork and further data analysis to confirm demand forecasts.

You will be challenged to balance multiple, opposing priorities with significant exposure in an autonomous way. You will need to collaborate with our buying team, global technical support team, procurement, operations engineering, quality and product lifecycle management to solve issues in the supply chain like part shortages, obsolescence and quality. Lastly, you play a key role in the setup and the creation of reasons with investment proposals up and above $1M to ensure the most efficient and scalable setup.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing $140M in global inventory.

  • Confirm statistical demand forecasting to be able to run global inventory planning through the warehousing network for a portfolio of spare parts.

  • Collaborate with multiple cross-function teams to bring information on key forecast drivers resulting in actionable advise towards the Service Logistics Director.

  • Work with regional logistics teams across the globe to run appropriate execution of the global inventory plan.

  • Align forecasts with procurement department and suppliers, enabling long term capacity planning within the integrated supply chain while owning solving critical shortages on short-term.

  • Be involved in cross-functional teams and work towards resolving supply chain (capacity) challenges.

  • Resolve obsolescence challenges as well as parts quality issues.

  • Support the field service teams on logistics support to our key customers, as well as crafting logistics support models tailored to customer’s need.

  • Continuously work on improving the overall service supply chain setup by combining a multitude of data sources.

  • Aim for continuous improvement in multi-disciplinary projects while representing service logistics.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • MSc degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field.

  • 0-2 years experience in working in supply chain for a prolonged period of time, preferably in a high tech service environment

  • Possesses knowledge of service businesses, statistical forecasting, inventory management and project management.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to work with large data sets.

  • High Attention to details, organized and works in a structured manner.

  • Ability to work and to lead multiple priorities at once.

  • Continuous improvement mentality.

  • Excellent teammate.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
