The Mission

The EMEA NanoPort team, a part of the Sales and Service Division (SSD), operates an Electron Microscopy Centre of Excellence that supports account managers and external Thermo Fisher Scientific customers in the Sciences and Industry markets.

The Position

As an Application Scientist in Life Sciences, you will be conducting customer demonstrations, handling sample jobs, providing product training, and supporting R&D efforts in new product developments. We are seeking an individual with a background in Small DualBeam (FIB-SEM) and experience in Cryo- & 3D-Volume imaging. Proficiency in sample preparation for Life Science SEM, FIB-SEM & TEM is highly desirable. Additionally, this role involves providing onsite support for FIB-SEM in pioneering research laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting product demonstrations.

  • Providing onsite and remote customer support.

  • Supporting R&D efforts in new product development.

  • Owning and maintaining systems.

  • Writing application notes, standard process documents, and scientific papers.

The Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A University degree in the Natural Sciences.

  • Hands-on experience in the operation of SDB.

  • A keen eye for quality and a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in German, Italian, or French being a plus.

  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work in a multi-cultural, cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to travel internationally and possession of a valid passport.
