How will you make an impact?

This entry level sales support position is designed to promote the development of the successful candidate who has achieved the academic requirements, may have practical lab experience and has demonstrated a customer centric aptitude applicable to the position, but lacks sales experience in our industry. To be successful you will comprehend and utilize product features, benefits, and applications accompanied with soft selling skills to follow up and qualify leads, initiate the sales process and successfully promote Company products and services to assist in achieving or exceeding the assigned growth target. The primary objective of this role is to manage digital interactions with customers that start and develop relationships which achieve the best possible representation for the organization while delivering and exceeding our annual operating targets.

What will you do?

  • Respond positively to and expeditiously process all incoming telephone and email inquiries from customers

  • Provide a high level of customer service excellence to assist customers in the digital accounts group

  • Triage sales leads and ensure the customer is directed to the appropriate selling resource

  • Facilitate the information flow between customers, sales reps/ account managers, product managers, customer service and technical services.

  • Author quotes or send the customer to the most appropriate selling resource to author a quote

  • Partner with Digital Marketing Team to create customer outreach content (promotions, awareness campaigns, etc.)

  • Manage the pricing agreement renewal process where applicable

  • Liaise with the correct internal resources to respond to RFP/RFQs

  • Act on Marketing Leads (MKTG) in Siebel

  • Review NEXUS leads from the Lead Shop and engage the Digital Marketing team to support action on these leads

  • Log customer activity in Siebel

  • Coordinate with channel partners

  • Have “exception” account awareness – ex: Clinical GSD, HMD, BPD, resellers

How will you get here?


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science preferred or related lab experience


  • Requires a minimum of 2-3 years related work experience (i.e. – customer services, telephone experience). Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or like programs.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communications skills

  • Results oriented focus with productive approach to customer support

  • Highly motivated, driven and self sufficient to meet target goals

  • Demonstrates a professional rapport with customers and co-workers

  • Knowledge of Siebel/SFDC a plus

  • General knowledge of assigned product portfolio and/or customer segment required

  • Ability to function effectively in a high performance team

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and desire to succeed

  • Ability to work in fast pace environment and to prioritize workload effectively

  • Practical understanding of the sales process & buying cycle

  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office packages

  • Knowledge of web tools and analytics

  • Minimal travel may be required (up to 5%)

  • Must possess strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and have the professional mannerisms to hold oneself in any customer situation.

  • Individual must be detail oriented, an excellent communicator, be self-motivated and work effectively in a multi-task environment.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
