How will you make an impact?

The Director, Business Operations will report to the for the Protein & Cell Analysis Business Unit (“PCA”) Business Unit VPGM to drive the successful development and execution of the strategic plan, operating mechanisms, the annual operating calendar, and strategic program initiatives (including business transformations, practical process improvements, integrations, and others as required). They will partner closely with the VPGM and PCA leadership team to facilitate the achievement of the annual operating plan (AOP), leading with a sense of urgency, while demonstrating leadership agility across our matrixed footprint.

What will you do?

Support BU Operating Mechanisms

  • Collaborate with BU & Strategic Business Segment leaders to identify and refine areas of focus and define KPIs, revisiting regularly and evaluating progress

  • Facilitate agenda preparation and follow up with business leaders for Site/Business Reviews, ensuring the Group Presidents have all information needed to be as productive as possible and sending out agendas or documents to meeting attendees as necessary

  • Responsible for overall development and leadership of the Business Unit (BU) Operating Mechanisms and annual operating calendar

  • Ensure the structured advanced planning for key face-to-face meetings (including but not limited to STRAP planning, STRAP to AOP, organization planning)

Strategic Program Leadership

  • Drive PPI funnel

  • Oversee and drive large, often cross-functional projects or initiatives; maintain the active backlog of key priorities

  • Bring together multiple stakeholders and help drive decisions

  • Manage and facilitate Strategy Deployment (A3/Bowlers)

  • Create & update dashboards for reviewing key performance indicators

  • Additional duties as assigned

Measures of Success:

  • P&CA AOP achieved, including revenue, margin and CAS

  • Strategic initiatives (business transformations, PPI initiatives), chartered, funded, approved, and staffed

  • Leadership team successfully aligned to ensure on-time, accurate submissions for STRAP, AOP, A3/Bowlers, other Group and Corporate compliance

How will you get here?

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive professional experience managing strategic planning process or program management of large scale and complex projects

  • Track record of process improvement

  • Demonstrated attention to detail

  • Experience in effectively building relationships

  • Demonstrated strong business and finance acumen

  • Action-oriented

  • Experience consulting with and influencing senior leaders across the matrix

  • Strong analytical mindset

  • Experience working in life sciences industry preferred

  • Executive presence; strong presentation skills

  • Conflict resolution skills

  • Catalyst for change

  • Travel: approximately 20% in the US, Asia, and Europe
