A day in the Life:

  • Seek clients and new business opportunities with existing clients for clinical supply chain services including drug packaging, distribution and comparator sourcing

  • Lead client expectations by involving other colleagues from Client Services, Subject Matter Experts and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Members, in order to build an integrated relationship.

  • Document activity and report progress on an ongoing basis with CRM systems. Review performance against plan with Line Manager and, where shortfalls exist, the incumbent will recommend alternative strategies and tactics.

  • Responsible for owning the process of bringing new business. This may include leadership at the bid defence meeting, quote discussion, contracts management etc. The role will be accountable for meeting new business targets.

  • Gain knowledge of the outsourcing strategy of the assigned clients and develop short / medium- and long-term strategies that result in maximising the opportunities to provide the clients with clinical trials supplies services. This includes the prioritization of accounts, identification of decision-makers, utilization of sales tools.

  • Meet and exceed the sales goal for the assigned accounts and/or territory

  • Observe company policy and appropriate SOP’s and where appropriate makes recommendations for improving the efficiency of policies and procedures.

  • Participate in required training and development opportunities.

  • Other sales related duties as assigned may be required to perform the role

Education

  • BSc/BA or equivalent in business or the sciences

Experience

  • 8 years of industry experience to include related clinical project and/orsales experience. Preferably, this includes clinical protocol development and/or CRO sales.

  • Clinical trials and/or supplies management knowledge preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Teamwork, especially in a matrix management organisation. Ability to influence across functions across Thermo Fisher Scientific sites and across companies to achieve objectives.

  • Demonstrated competency with software tools used for internal and external communications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS PowerPoint, SalesForce.com, or other CRM software.

  • Sales, communication and presentation skills. Capable to understand client’s requirements and able to devise and articulate the most appropriate solutions.

  • Proven problem solving with keen analytical skills. Capable of identifying and raising issues.

  • Have a focus on always meeting the required timelines.

  • Self-motivated and goal focused to achieve results. Is capable of working with autonomy and assessing when to involve the relevant colleagues and management for support.

  • Up to 50% overnight travel may be required

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $95,000.00–$142,475.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
