Position Summary:

Working within the Research and Development Biochemistry group on new product feasibility, development, data analysis, verification, technology transfer, training, troubleshooting, and improving the existing antibody detection related products, reagents, and processes. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality and R&D for the writing, editing, and producing of protocols, procedures and other relevant technical and functional documentation to support Test Plans, Data Formatting and Reports presented to international regulatory agencies. This person must have excellent research skills, must be able to organize his/her ideas, and be able to translate technical terms into text that any reader can understand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with other scientists on protein detection assay development

  • Identifying and testing the variables of an experiment

  • Assisting with project planning, executing, analyzing, and making summary reports

  • Setting up and working with the Luminex, flow cytometer, and other related instruments

  • Optimizing and troubleshooting reagents, protocols, and procedures

  • Statistically analyzing data using Panda, HLA Fusion, Microsoft Excel, macros and other related software.

  • Presenting data using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Develop high-quality scientific/technical documentation for end users from information and data provided by R&D scientists, operations managers, and other key business team members.

  • Synthesize and organize the information in a logical and concise way that meets the needs of our target audience (e.g. International Regulatory Agencies)

  • Proactively solicit information from other experts within the company as needed (e.g., operations, tech support, quality, engineering, and legal).

  • Attend team meetings and interact with subject experts on a daily basis.

  • Manage multiple projects with multiple deliverables simultaneously, while working independently and with other members. Deliver under tight deadlines.

  • Follow all processes, style guides, templates, brand guidelines and terminology in documentation.

  • Identify and communicate risks to project deadlines in advance.

  • Solicit and incorporate feedback from internal and external customers to improve document quality.

  • Work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.

  • Promote a collaborative Team environment that fosters creativity, innovation and high performance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate or equivalent independent research/industry with technical writing experience is required

  • Minimum Education-Bachelor’s degree in the Biological or Chemical Sciences. Master’s Degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years working on protein detection assay experience

  • Thorough understanding of technical/scientific content. Keen attention to detail and high regard for quality.

  • Knowledge and ability to perform pipetting, molarity calculations, dilution calculations, Microsoft

Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Must have a positive attitude, reliability, problem-solving skills, integrity and be organized

  • Ability to work independently, in a group setting, with little direction, and with direct supervision

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time in the lab or in front of a computer

  • This position must be able to interact respectfully and diplomatically with members of other departments including the research staff, QA, QC, production, shipping, ordering, administration, and all others

  • Can effectively adapt structure, tone, and style to meet needs of business.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Clear statistical analysis skills to analyze and format data in reports and presentations

  • Demonstrated knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of technical writing.
