Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Scientist I to be a part of our research efforts in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity for a recent graduate or someone early in their scientific career to contribute to the development of new diagnostic assays for our Optilite platform.
Responsibilities:
Work together with a team of researchers to plan and carry out experiments aimed at creating new diagnostic assays.
Analyze and interpret data, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results
Contribute to the optimization and validation of assays to meet quality standards
Support the transfer of assays to manufacturing teams for production
Stay updated with the latest scientific advancements and literature in the field
Maintain accurate documentation of experiments and results
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology), or equivalent experience.
Experience with immunodiagnostic assay development is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
Effective communication and collaboration skills
