We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Service Manager to be responsible for our field service, field applications and technical support operations in Spain. A day in the Life:
Lead an impactful team of field service engineers and applications specialists. Recruit, coach, and develop our service talent.
Ensure timely and effective delivery of technical support, maintenance, upgrade and repair services for our installed base.
Coordinate the installation planning for our in vitro diagnostics systems in customer labs.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers - understanding their needs and addressing these promptly and expertly.
Support the team, leading efforts to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing solutions that meet customer requirements.
Provide support for public tenders and other revenue-generating activities, providing technical expertise.
Reporting: Prepare and reports on field service activities, proactively monitor and act on key performance metrics.
Manage local inventory levels of spare parts and consumables
Collaborate closely with key partners across the business, including Global Services, Sales and Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Logistics.
Implement and maintain quality procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
Keys to Success:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., biomedical engineering, clinical laboratory science)
Experience
Proven experience in field service or field applications management – ideally within the IVD industry
Strong technical knowledge of in vitro diagnostics equipment
Experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, and resource prioritization is desirable
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Proven track record of leading field-based service teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong technical proficiency, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Fluency in Spanish and English – written and verbal. Portuguese could be a plus.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Ideally based in Barcelona with ability to travel to customer sites
