Job Description

As a Senior Consultant in People Analytics at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making across our organization. You will be part of our innovative People Analytics team, using your critical thinking and analytical skills to influence key decisions. In addition, this role will often be responsible for providing technical and professional advice / guidance on complex and conceptual predictive and prescriptive analytics issues using statistical and financial modeling. Creativity, innovation, and lateral thinking to analyze and develop new approaches/solutions and to overcome data and analysis issues/concerns are very important aspects of the job.

Required Skills:

  • Display excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to clearly define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide recommendations.

  • Detailed working knowledge of statistics, financial modeling, and people analytics.

  • Blend of business perspective with a "bottom line" orientation.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, using independent judgment and discretion to complete advanced analyses and deliverable requirements.

  • Practical working experience in the workforce analytics and workforce planning function.

  • Critical thinking and conceptual abilities to translate complex data and business priorities into human capital requirements and insights that inform strategy.

  • Creativity in the communication and packaging of concepts and ideas.

  • Strong relationship management skills developed sufficient to obtain support from Executive level management and elicit cooperation and consensus from team members.

  • Proven experience delivering superior internal work deliverables across a broad level including senior Executives.

  • Ability to partner closely to better understand business issues and help shape business analysis models that will yield valuable outcomes.

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and creativity in handling situations effectively and suggesting ways to improve work processes.

  • Adapt to changes and learn new technologies and techniques as required.

  • Build analytical capability of HR business partners through guidance, consultation, and training as the expert on the selection of appropriate tools, the identification of drivers, trends, and proactive opportunities from the data.

Education and experience Requirement:

  • Master’s degree in business, science, or statistics with 3 years of relevant work experience with HR data and analytics, or related experience

  • Or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, economics or statistics with analytic focus with 5 years of relevant work experience with HR data and analytics, or related experience

Required knowledge or experience with:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in visualization and analytics tools such as Excel, PowerBI, SQL, Python

  • Utilize statistical concepts and principles such as descriptive statistics, regression, correlation, and significance testing in data analysis.

  • Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data to uncover patterns and trends.

  • Apply knowledge of key HR metrics to quantify and analyze data effectively.

  • Ability to craft prompts to produce better GenAI output for problem solving a given challenge.

  • Visual storytelling and must be able to use PowerPoint to create compelling and informative presentations that tell a story. This includes the ability to develop a clear narrative, use data to support your argument, and design slides that are visually appealing and easy to understand; and

  • Change management within a highly matrixed organization.
