Thermo Fisher Scientific PPI Business System Continuous Improvement Manager in 1 Science Park Road, Singapore

Continuous Improvement Manager

This role will facilitate implementation of the PPI Business System and handle/lead projects, primarily within the SG&A functions in APAC, to enable profitable growth, intensify the customer experience and increase employee engagement.

The position will support the regional PPI leader in governance and cadence of regional as well as functional PPI important metrics and goals to ensure scalability and sustenance of results. The role will be responsible to lead key PPI projects to drive process improvement along end-to-end value streams using various digital technologies like RPA, DPloy, Rever in addition using PPI, Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.

Focus on helping various SG&A functions and country leaders to embrace the PPI business system, enable them to implement and become comfortable with PPI culture and methods and implement for results against various key strategic objectives and goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect positively to influence leadership and all levels of the organization

  • Have had first-hand experience leading projects or programs with corporate functions or commercial teams and with good knowledge on improving customer experience.

  • Strong conceptual and analytical orientation, creative problem-solving skills, to evaluate problems and concepts from various perspectives; use data to identify key issues/opportunities and arrive at logical solutions; experience preparing strategic and financial models, and identifying areas of improvement.

  • A CI Professional with at least 3-5years experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing and training successful CI/LSS fundamentals including elements such as:

  • Strategy Deployment, important metric bowlers, A3 thinking

  • Visual management/5S, Standard work, Gemba walks, Tiered daily accountability

  • Value stream mapping, DMAIC, PDSA, 8-Steps, Kaizen, JDI

  • Passionate in driving improvement and leading change and ability to work in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Change agent with the ability to accept change and follow-up activities with proper closure and measure success and sustenance of results.

  • Excellent communicator, including shown written, oral and presentation skills.

  • Broad knowledge of multi-functional processes and financial business methods

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, operations or business analytics.

  • Lean Six Sigma GB and/or Project Management Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced with the end to end supply chain from order to ship and procure to pay.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience support CI in a non-manufacturing environment (HR, Commercial, Finance, IT, Legal, Customer Care, etc.) in SG&A processes such as Finance, Customer care, Commercial, HR, IT, Legal.

  • Broad knowledge of multi-functional, multi-site, global organizational processes and financial business methods (SIOP, Customer Connections, Strategic Sourcing, etc.)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Key projects from SG&A function

  • Help teams identify new projects through process analysis, value stream mapping, data analysis and tiered daily management systems with country and regional teams.

  • Improve processes to enable profitable growth a stronger CI culture and become more efficient in improving both customer (CAS) and employee (EIS) experience with PPI.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement and PPI cultural change amongst functional teams.

  • Establish and perform PPI maturity assessments and work with teams to develop improvement plans and map out their road to gold.

  • Measure and report on key performance indicators (leading and lagging) at the regional level; develop and implement effective corrective action plans in conjunction with Site and PPI managers to address any areas of concern

  • Understand and conduct PPI/LEAN training for leadership and employees (where required).

  • Build and propagate PPI culture building through communication, events and success cases. Handle PPI website and newsletter, recognition programs, standard methodology sharing and implementation, PPI knowledge data base

  • Administrate PPI digital tools for the region. Rever, Dploy, Promapps etc.
